The Aquarian - May 26, 2023
"The band was back in town. Beloved Jersey Shore favorites, Matt O'Ree Band, hit The Stone Pony stage on May 5 in one of their first official Asbury Park shows since the release of the new album, Hand in Glove. Accompanied by Bon Jovi keyboardist, David Bryan, the band showcased their own rockstar power in the city that's famous for rearing musical talent."
Asbury Park Press - May 3, 2023
"Looking to party on Cinco de Mayo? Check out the Matt O'Ree Band with David Bryan of Bon Jovi Friday, May 5, at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. "We have become such good friends that anytime I get a chance to play with him of course I jump at it because we have so much fun together on stage," said O'Ree of Bryan."
V13 - April 20, 2023
"The Matt O'Ree Band released their latest record, Hand in Glove, their most collaborative effort last November. It features more songs written collectively by the band, a true blues rock album with lots of bluesy guitars and gritty vocals."
Blues News - April 1, 2023
HEMIFRÅN Music from home - February 28, 2023
""Det här är musikaliskt högkvalitativt, ätminstone när bandet sparar en aning pä energin, som i typ 'Cant Undo' och 'So Lonely'. Och Eryn O'Ree, som sjunger, är ett fynd och gör att anrättningen hamnar pä pluspoäng, vilket kanske bäst sammanfattas med läten 'I'll Be Your Shotgun', som är mer country än tuffa toner, och dessutom med lite drag av Little Feat i sina bättre och senare stunder.""
Musik An Sich - February 27, 2023
"So sollen sich Einflüsse von Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Bad Company, Deep Purple, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, ZZ Top und Rush eingeschlichen haben. So - Ton ab! "Whole Lotta Nothin", klingt fast so bombastisch wie "Whole Lotta Love", vielleicht nicht von ungefähr, klingt Drummer John Hummel doch so wie John Bonham, Schlagzeuger bei Led Zeppelin. Und Matt O'Ree bei einem der Songs, bei dem nicht die Ehefrau singt, legt sich auch kraftvoll ins Zeug, hat Shouter-Qualitäten und erinnert mich auch an Leslie West. Ja, das riecht nach klassischem Rock!"
The Aquarian - December 30, 2022
"For 24 of Makin Waves' 32 years of existence, the Makin Waves Awards have honored the New Jersey independent acts who have released the best material and made the most waves with it. Once again, this is my Christmas gift to the New Jersey music scene: the 24th annual Makin Waves Awards. This year's big winner is Matt O'Ree Band with three! Congrats to all the winners and Happy New Year to all of you!"
New Jersey Stage - December 30, 2022
"Eryn, "Beautiful You" - Close your eyes, and you'd swear you're listening to Gladys Knight, that's how much soul is in this song sung and co-written (with producer-engineer Anthony Krizan and Cheryl DaVeiga) by a Jersey Girl of whom we all can be proud!"
The Aquarian - December 29, 2022
"Matt O'Ree Band, "Hand in Glove" - If Janis Joplin sat in with Led Zeppelin or Etta James with The Allman Brothers Band or Gov't Mule, it would sound like this amazing album featuring three 2022 Makin Waves Award winners: Matt, Best Guitarist; his soulful wife, Eryn, Best Vocalist, and John Hummel, Best Drummer."
Muziekwereld - December 29, 2022
"Zo zijn er de knappe rockballads "Can't Undo", "So Lonely" en "This Reality" naast het door Eryn fragiel en zeer mooi gezongen liedje "Stepping Stone" en de lieflijke in duetvorm gezongen albumafsluiter "He Loves Me Anyway". "Wake Up And Live", "I'll Be Your Shotgun" en "Tore Up From The Floor Up" zijn hardrockende tracks die echter opnieuw heel luid gitaarspel en een stevige bas - en drumsound vertonen."
New Jersey Stage - December 28, 2022
"M.O.B. toured several times down to Florida, where bikers dig their Allmans-meet-Led Zep vibe heard on a bunch of great albums, the latest of which is the well-received "Hand in Glove," featuring a couple hot vids. The band also nabbed three Makin Waves Awards for Best Vocalist (Eryn), Guitarist (Matt) and Drummer (John Hummel). They'll end the year with a holiday show on Dec. 30 at Hopewell Theater."

"Album nummer zeven van the Matt O'Ree Band is een album geworden waar alles aan klopt. En dus kan ik dit album zonder meer aanbevelen aan de liefhebbers van de betere bluesrock!"
SongwriterUniverse - December 8, 2022
Rootstime - December 6, 2022
Indie Spoonful - November 10, 2022
"The "Matt O'Ree Band" satisfy your eardrums with the inescapably groovy "Better As I Go." The first single off of their recently released album "Hand In Glove" is a tasty slab of tried and true blues rock that pays homage to hooks just as much as it bows before the grandeur of the almighty riff."
Indie Music Interviews - November 9, 2022
"The fans that you obtain are everything. Without them, you having nothing really. They make the show, the ticket sales, the merchandise sales. They make our whole world work. We owe everything to them. Gotta get out there and stay out there as much as you can to win them over. What a challenge it is but it can be done, never give up."
Skope Magazine - November 1, 2022
"'Hand In Glove' shows off the incredible chops of the Matt O'Ree Band in creating a wild, animalistic fury of classic rock n'roll. Stylistically they bring together gospel, soul, southern rock, and the blues into a cacophonous whole. Guitar work proves to be exceptional for they touch upon the unruly spirit of AC/DC at their prime, and Van Halen at their most anthemic."
Americana Highways - October 31, 2022
"Electric guitar leads are the first out of the gate for the album's launch with "Whole Lotta Nothin'," a sexy song of noticing her from across the room and new beginnings. But listen closer, it might turn out to be a song of regretful endings. "Walking on the Edge of My Dreams" continues the intense bluesy energy and it's a heavy rock n roll celebration by now. "Can't Undo" is a more thoughtful song, this time a love song, with that feeling of wanting to fix everything for the one you love."
Bridge Magazine - October 29, 2022
"The Matt O'Ree Band is something truly special. These are serious professionals who are proving that Blues and Rock are still alive and well. From their collaboration with Bruce Springsteen and David Bryan of Bon Jovi, to their outstanding live performances, killer vocals, and top-flight musicianship, this is a group with a bright future."
New Jersey Stage - October 28, 2022

"We had a chance to preview some of the new music and we can assure you it will satisfy all fans of soul, grit, groove, rock, and blues. Having more than one vocalist is a rare thing these days. The range and variety of the Matt O'Ree Band is wide and bountiful. If you like to hear the influence and inspiration of the legends performed by masters of their craft, then you need to listen to this new release. You will love it."
New Jersey Stage - October 25, 2022
"The Matt O'Ree Band is back with Hand In Glove, set for release on November 3rd. In my opinion, it is by far the band's most musically ambitious and solid release to date. It is also the best to utilize the talents of Eryn O'Ree on lead vocals. The way the album switches back and forth from Matt on lead vocals to Eryn gives the album a special quality. This is the band's first studio album since Brotherhood in 2016."
Insanity Media - October 20, 2022

American Songwriter - August 31, 2020
"Guitarist Matt O'Ree reviews the Rockett Audio Archer Pedals in his latest Geartorial video review series. O'Ree walks through the sounds of both the Gold Ikon and Silver versions of the Archer. The Archer functions as a 2 in one guitar pedal. With the gain down, it's a clean boost. As you introduce gain it attenuates the clean signal, adding overdrive and a nice harmonic saturation."
Asbury Park Press - June 30, 2020
"Matt and Eryn O'Ree from the Jersey Shore guested throughout the set, and both shined bright. Matt O'Ree, former guitarist for Bon Jovi, capped the show with a transfixing cover of the Allman Brothers' "Blue Sky" that seemed to be made just for the moment. The sun was going down over the hills as O'Ree sang and delivered a guitar solo that seemed to touch the ether."
American Songwriter - June 9, 2020
"The LR Baggs Align Session pedal was released in 2018 and is still available in stores. We reviewed the unit back then, along with their Equalizer and Active DI... What does it sound like? Well, we gave it a spin, courtesy of guitarist Matt O'Ree, who pulled out his trusted Martin and strummed and fingerpicked his way through different chords and runs to give you an idea of what you can expect from the Session pedal."

"One of the more popular tech questions guitar players are asked is "what makes one guitar sound different than another?" Indeed, some players themselves don't know the difference. They just go by whether it sounds good to them. Others are on an endless quest to find the perfect guitar."

"It's fitting that the annual Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California is held right next to Disneyland. The 5-day event is a magical, head-turning, star-gazing geekfest guaranteed to bring out the child in everyone. Take a look at just a few of the artists who performed for various manufacturers at the 2020 edition."
New Jersey Stage - June 23, 2019
"Shortly after releasing their new album, "Live at the Stone Pony!" and in the midst of touring, the Matt O'Ree Band somehow found the time to record not one but two new singles. The New Jersey-based rockers have received a lot of positive feedback after their most recent midwest tour and are in the process of writing new songs. The new singles are a departure as Eryn, bandleader Matt O'Ree's wife, is singing lead."
InFocusVisions Music Magazine - November 17, 2018
"WOW, what a show - I had an absolute blast covering this!! Both Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan and legendary Hammond B3 player John Ginty performed with the band as well."
Asbury Park Press - November 15, 2018
"David Bryan of Bon Jovi is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he has a few Tony Awards, too. But he also likes to rock out in Jersey Shore music clubs. Bryan is set to perform with the Matt O'Ree Band Friday, Nov. 16, at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park in a holiday homecoming show. Bryan, a native of Edison who now lives in Colts Neck, is no stranger to playing with O'Ree's band, but usually the appearances are unannounced."
WRAT 95.9: The Rat - April 15, 2018
"Matt O'Ree Band is a highly-talented group of skilled musicians and singers. The Bluesy Rock outfit wields their instruments and vocal cords with a level of precision that would impress even the most critical of music fans. A well-known New Jersey guitar hero, Matt O'Ree has proven his skills time and time again. Having recently served as a touring guitarist for newly inducted Rock And Roll Hall of Famers Bon Jovi, Matt O'Ree is accustomed to performing in front of crowds that are 70,000 strong. His band can jam hard in the most packed of venues, but also change gears to produce a highly organic acoustic experience."
WRAT 95.9: The Rat - March 17, 2018
"It has been just about 1 month since the Jersey Rock Showcase in which Matt O'Ree Band blew the roof off The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. The group performed for over an hour in what could be described as an over-the-top, guitar-driven jam session. Capping the evening with a cameo from David Bryan of Bon Jovi, Matt O'Ree band gave the audience everything they could possibly want and still left them asking for more."
Click it Ticket - January 29, 2018
"Matt O'Ree is a New Jersey guitarist. Federal law stipulates that if you talk about music and the Garden State that you must mention Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. Well, we were going to do that anyways since The Boss and Jon are huge fans. In fact, O'Ree toured with Bon Jovi."
WRAT 95.9: The Rat - January 21, 2018
"Holmdel native Matt O'Ree is a stage-tested, time-tested Guitar Hero. Active since the early 1990's, he has continuously pushed forward, providing serious inspiration for all up-and-coming Jersey Rockers. Today he stands atop a mountain of achievements, however it is clear that his ascension has yet to reach its limit."

"He's toured with Bon Jovi, recorded with Bruce Springsteen, and named King of the Blues by B.B. King. Matt O'Ree now has a great new album, YouTube video series, and soon-to-be Mrs. O'Ree."
The Aquarian Weekly - December 21, 2016
"Matt has come up with an excellent record that has tons and tons of listenable, well-written rock music on it. The fact that it also includes several well-known friends is the bonus that will sell this and that's what this is all about. If you crave real rock and you are tired of the typical postmodern sounds of Americana and fake punk rock, give Brotherhood a spin, I know you won't be disappointed."
Billboard - December 21, 2016
"If you're a musician and play in New Jersey long enough, you are bound to cross paths with Bruce Springsteen or Jon Bon Jovi at some point. If you are really lucky, you might get the opportunity to play with one of them on stage. And if you are truly blessed, you may get invited to tour with one of them or have another add guest vocals to your own project. But when you are guitarist Matt O'Ree, you get all of the above and more."

The Matt O'Ree Band, with Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan sitting in, performed the band's new single, "My Everything is You", twice at the release party for the track Saturday, June 18 inside the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. "New Jersey is the center of the world tonight," said Bryan from the stage."

On the new album, the song features guest vocalist and rock legend Bruce Springsteen. For years, Matt taught Bruce's son guitar. "Opening for Rodgers was the New Jersey based Matt O'Ree Band. When an audience filled with seasoned concert goers stays in their seats and gives props to the support act, you know the band was firing on all cylinders. O'Ree on guitar got his influences from the blues masters, but drops kicks rock rhythms like ashes flicking off the end of a cigarette. Pairing his guitar with Eric Safka as he uses and abuses his B3 organ, and you could see heads nodding in approval while feet were keeping the beat. The band was good and the crowd was sure to let them know."

"L'altra sera Bryan si è esibito ad un pianoforte di marmo bianco appositamente realizzato per lui dalla GVM, accompagnato da Michael Ghegan al sax e dalla Matt O'Ree Band, solido gruppo blues-rock dell'amatissimo New Jersey che sarà al suo fianco anche nell'imminente tour da solista."

"Shelf Life is Matt O'Ree's third album and just like the two previous ones is a great showcase for the award-winning guitarist. O'Ree's guitar playing has won him many accolades including the 2006 Guitarmageddon "King of the Blues" 2006. And Shelf Life gives him lots of space to show what he can do. A versatile guitarist and vocalist, O'Ree plays out several moods and musical styles on this CD."

"After dinner, my friend and I went to see Matt O'Ree. Matt is a blues rocker based in New Jersey. I've known Matt for a while and actually have interviewed him on GJD. It's the first time that I've seen him live. Man, he and his band play with some serious fury and intensity. Matt's main axe is a Gibson Les Paul and he plays the heck out of it with an equal blend of technique and taste. There are two things about his playing that I really enjoyed. First, he almost makes his Les Paul sound like a Strat at times, or it seems that he is playing Strat like riffs but doing it on
a Les Paul. The second thing that I really enjoyed is his very unique blend of blues, rock, funk, and jazz. After Matt's show my friend and I parted ways and I was ready to crash back at the
hotel."
